1. Tricalcium Silicate (ALITE)                             C3S

2. (Belite)                                                                β-         C2s

3. Tricalcium Aluminate                                       C3A

4. Tetracalcium Aluminoferrite (CELITE)        C4AF

C3S andβ-C2S are responsible for cohesion while C3A and C4AF are responsible for setting.

Cooling Clinker

Upon clinker falls down from the kiln, water and air are used to cool it abruptly. Cement proprieties depend on the speed cooling of the clinker i.e. it improves proprieties of the clinker.
