In a related context, the Railways Authority intends to implement 8 projects with investments worth 25 billion pounds within the budget for the current fiscal year 2023-2024, compared to about 26 billion pounds for the fiscal year ending 30 June. According to the report of the Parliament’s Transport and Communications Committee, a copy of which was reviewed by Al Borsa newspaper, reliance on funding from external loans for the authority’s budget increased to reach 13 billion pounds, compared to about 8.9 billion in the fiscal year 2022-2023.
