The Egyptian government is negotiating with the European Union to obtain a grant of 1.5 billion euros for the electrical interconnection project with Greece with a capacity of 3 gigawatts.
And according to Eastern Economy sources with Bloomberg, the government, through the Ministry of Electricity, has made great strides in discussions and talks with the European Union to include the electrical interconnection project with Greece in the list of joint European projects to obtain a grant to implement the project,” adding: “The cost is huge for Egypt. Therefore, a preliminary hearing was held with European officials last April to discuss the matter, and other meetings followed in the same framework.
